Darrin was born to be a restauranteur. His lifelong love affair with the food business was sparked with his first part time restaurant job when he was just fifteen. Little did he know that his journey would take him through every style of restaurant all across the United States and abroad. It wasn't until he discovered the rich food industry in San Francisco, did he truly uncover his love for the business. Before coming to Sushi Ran, Darrin served for seven years as a managing partner for chef Roy Yamaguchi, where he was an integral part of the wine development team. His extensive travels from winery to winery sparked a real passion for fine wine. Darrin's deep understanding and appreciation of what chefs, farmers, vintners and brewers bring to their craft if reflected in his own high standards and successful management style—a style which brings the same finesse and refinement to Sushi Ran.
