Licensed blow fish cutter (don’t mess with him) and reigning world champion sushi chef (EAT-Japan, Seven Sushi Samurai international sushi chef competition) Mitsunori Kusakabe brings nearly two decades of experience to Sushi Ran.
From Kyoto to Miami and many points in between, Nori has honed his
skills on the principles of subtlety, simplicity and seasonality. Before
joining Sushi Ran, Nori’s distinguished career included executive chef at the renowned Nobu in Miami Beach, Florida, chef at Nobu in Tokyo, Japan, and Kaiseki chef at Kyo Kaiseki Junntei in Kyoto, Japan. Nori has delighted taste buds at Koji in Vancouver, Canada, Masa Sushi in Novato, California, and Kamado in Osaka, Japan.
Nori’s talents are regularly showcased at high-profile culinary events, and he has often been a featured chef at the Culinary Institute of America.
